Alloy steel seamless steel pipe is kind of long steel. Steel pipe has hollow section, which is widely used as pipeline for conveying fluids, such as oil, natural gas, gas, water and some solid materials. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, steel pipe is lighter in weight under the same bending and torsional strength. It is an economic section steel. ASTM A519 covers several grades of carbon and alloy steel seamless mechanical tubing. The standard is also acceptable in the manufacture of piping. It is manufactured by hot working and then cold finishing the steel into round, square, rectangle or special shapes.

AISI 4145H is a chromium molybdenum quality alloy steel specification. As a high tensile steel grade AISI 4145H is primarily supplied in the hardened and tempered condition to 30-36HRc range to AISI 4145H modified. With a slightly higher carbon content AISI 4145H is similar to AISI 4140 in that it offers good ductility, shock resisting characteristics combined with resistance to wear.

AISI 4145H is the upgraded type of AISI 4145. AISI 4145H has improved hardenability and is commonly used in the high strength condition with min.110 KSI yield and suitable for downhole drilling tools, and general engineering applications include components exposed to heavy strain. AISI 4145H can also be used in hardened condition as machine parts exposed to heavy wear.
