Product Introduction

Martensitic stainless steel, Cr-Mo, corrosion resistance improved as compared to similar only to Cr (eg. 1.2083), and it is polishable suitable for photoengraving.

It is used for molds and particular for plastics very aggressive due to corrosive action and the presence of abrasive additives.

1.2316 are in the class of plastic mold and stainless steel which was developed from 2083 (AISI420)By adding more composition of Chromium and Molybdinum, it can increase corrosive resistance.Moreover, it also comes with quenching and tempering as normal selling conditionHardness is in range 300 HB (30 HRC), result in easy to machining without hardening again. Also, help avoid changing in its dimension from hardening process.Suitable for plastic mold that require corrosive resistance during plastic making such as PVC, Amino plastic and thermo plastic

Chemical Composition

Features

Increased corrosion resistance in comparison with 1.2083, good polishability. This steel is usually supplied in the quenched and tempered condition. Good machinability due to the additional Ca-treatment with working harness of approximate 300HB

Heat Treatment

Soft Annealing : 760 – 780 oC, cooling in furnace, max hardness HB230

Hardening : 1020-1050 oC, in oil or hot bath 500-550 oC

Hardness : after quenching HRc49
